Morecambe Winter Gardens is Grade II* Listed theatre that has been on the Theatres at Risk Register since 2006. Plans are now underway to reopen it as a music and entertainments venue.

Recent interventions have led to it reopening its doors for a mixed programme of entertainment and tours, while simultaneously undergoing significant capital works to restore it to a permanently open venue.

 

The Morecambe Winter Gardens Preservation Trust are transforming its future and as they seek to attract new funding to fulfil the ambition, they asked for support to better understand the needs of audiences  in the town and beyond.

I am working with the Chair of Trustees to prepare a funding bid, through researching funder requirements, matching that with the current business plan and identifying  gaps, and providing advice to strengthen the project. 

​

Working with Research & Insight Consultant Sarah Court (linkedin.com/in/sarah-court-b966a419), I have also undertaken audience insight work to understand current use and future requirements to prepare the team for a more extensive activity plan as part of a funded project.

​

The work is funded through the Theatre Trusts Resilient Theatres  programme and will be completed in April 2024.
